    Best Headlight Stone Shield

I get asked about stone shields all the time and I don’t know anything about them as I’ve never used them. I don’t mean the metal grille stone guards but the clear shields. Are any of these effective? Are there any outstanding ones?

If there are good ones I’m thinking of stocking them at my new store. Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    John,

I still have the 'thicker ones' (about 3/32) Performance Products used to sell... These are the clear 'stick on type'.
I know the ones I've seen recently are about half as thin...

Even with these I still had one cracked lens from rocks...…… years ago
Still not too bad considering the amount of tough road and track miles I do...

    Hope this helps,
    Chuck

I've been using these covers over my H1s for several years now. They are a little inconvenient to remove for cleaning, but otherwise do a good job of protecting the lens.

I use the same shields as frankc. Going on 15 years now and have served me well. Prompted by a rock through my lens! And they are made in New Zealand - available in clear, brown tint (for racing) or yellow.
Excuse dirty unwashed 911 - returned yesterday from 2 day drive. No headlight lens damage!!!

resurrecting this old thread here... has anyone used the mesh cages? Do they work well too?

Just a quick suggestion if using the FVD plastic covers. Use a little blue Loctite on the retaining studs, as the little plastic nuts spin off very easily. They appear custom to this application and may be difficult to replace.

    Great advice! Thank you.

Anyone used the cages? Curious as to how effective they are.
