Well said Chuck and I completely agree. Scott built a fantastic car, hands down.

Thought I might see you, Scott, at the Burlington Airport FuelFed Porsche show. Of course, I had to be contrary and flew the Staggerwing in. That got way more "press" than any Porsche I could have driven.

Hey Scott, wish I could have seen you land the Stagerwing!

My car is “wintering” with the builder, Aaron Hatz/Flat Six, Inc. I had an interesting drive up to his shop today: two hours in the rain in Illinois, then an hour in wet snow up to New Glarus, Wisconsin, at which point the sun came out and I spent the next seven hours exploring the twisty rural roads of Wisconsin before jumping on the highway to Minneapolis. About 600 miles in total and a great way to end the driving season.

The car got a little grimy today!

The car still looks fantastic Scott! I’m happy to see that you’re still driving it as intended. I’m hoping to do a little driving with you next May.

Aaron Hatz did a great job prepping the car for a long journey. Next stop: Ouray, Colorado.

    New gears

My original choices (10+ years ago!) for gears 2nd through 5th were poor: Post #39 in this thread

    Live and learn.

I finally got around to having Aaron re-gear the 915 transmission (just in time to log 4300 miles in the car over a two week period) and I am thrilled with my new choices, which I think are just right. I used Albins' so-called "profile-ground" gears which have a bit more gear whine than stock gears but a LOT less than the gears I used previously. I purchased the Albins gears from Retro Sport.

Greg really enjoyed the 'spirited R Gruppe' drive you guys had up the mountain outside Santa Fe. He said keeping up with you and that 2.9 was really fun. Also, I really enjoyed getting to know you in the R Gruppe parking lot. Your car is truly outstanding!
