    FS: 906 Seat

Original 906 seat just out of long storage. Would make a great homologation seat for the passenger side (see photo). Excellent original condition.

never seen such a seat in a 906......the profile of the rails is kind of correct but they are modified/butchered for more head space or to fit in something else.

    Stunning seat Don,

Thank you for offering this seat on the registry. Very very rare with original basketweave upholstery.

It is a 906 seat. It came from a very late car and if it was modified, it was done so in the mid-70s. The former owner was quite tall.

honey bee ...do you also happen to know if it was reupholstered at some point...i only have seen them in red fluffy leatherette that was glued to the fiber glass... not fixed with rivets
i`m not trying to be super smart just want to learn
    thanks

It is possible that it was recovered, but it would have been done in the early 70s. It is also possible that it came from a very early 910 now that I think about it. It originates from an individual that had a very late 906 and very early 910 so it could have come from either. It was on a shelf for a very long time and I don't recall. The center basket weave section was not glued and the fiberglass pan had a large rectangular hole cut into the bottom right side. You can just it in the photo. I assumed for the oil line in the 906, however this line was removed in that particular car. It also had an oval handle to adjust the seat position (it's been removed) rather than a circular one in the frame pic you posted.

    thanks for clarification
my assumption it was fitted in something else than a 906 also came from the oil line issue the low seat position would have created...
in adition to the altered seat rails i also think (i also could be wrong)the fiber glass pan was repositioned(lowered) ..since the way it is bonded to the frame is also nothing i`v seen so far
attached a foto of the seat material i know..
the seat rail i posted a foto of came off a very late 906--one of the most original 906 on this planet

I agree that the covering is not what I have seen before in a 906, which is one of the reasons I parted with it. It was suggested to me that it is a 907 seat, but I have a 907 seat and it is different. I still believe it is a 906 or possibly a 910 seat and if it was altered, it was done a long time ago.
