MFI drive shaft seal | pulley hub stuck

    Hello,

As the title states, the pulley hub on my MFI pump seems stuck. I ordered a new drive shaft seal and in the meantime I thought I would remove the pulley hub so the seal is ready to change once it arrives. However, it seems stuck. I removed the shaft nut and pump gear that is held on with three socket head allen bolts. The hub wouldn't pull off by hand so I tried a pulley puller. It gets too tight for comfort and it wouldn't budge. Am I missing something here? I don't want to crank on this pulley puller and risk damaging something.

    Any insights are appreciated.

Its a taper fit, try a little heat along with a puller pressure.

Yes , propane torch or heat gun , it should pop off the shaft . Do not over tighten when replacing , 18 ft / lbs .

    Great. Thanks guys.

I'm pretty cautious when comes to MFI so thanks for the confidence boost. I heated it up and put just a little more effort on the puller. It worked, and popped right off.
