Question on Coil Placement and Fan Clamp in 1968 911L

    Gents,

I have a question for the pros here. Having bought my US-spec 1968 911L from my uncle in 1992, the coil and fan clamp have always been installed like this with a bracket on the fan shroud for the coil and the tightening bolt for the fan clamp at the top:

I assume that the proper, factory-installed set up should be more like this with the coil mounted on the side of the engine bay and the fan camp down at the 3 O’Clock position:

I am hoping that the cagey veterans here can confirm the right set up as I want to get back to how it was installed from the factory. TIA for the help!

Awesome, thanks for confirming this so I can get this back to the factory-correct set up!
