Hi Paul, Scheel and ASS were the same Company GmbH (Scheel) & Co. KG (ASS) for some time.
If you bought a Scheel Brand seat while they were located in Karlsfeld e.g. the corresponding papers were sometimes from ASS sometimes from Scheel and sometimes both Companies were on one piece of paper.
When Scheel moved Back to Stuttgart and later the different spin offs appeared like Scheelmann, Scheel-Mann, König, Prinz

Question is: Were these ever installed in any car by a manufacturer or race/rally team? Any idea what they might be worth?

    Many thanks

    Paul
    Well they are Scheel/Asse seats,
This seat company produced,, umm yes you got it ... seats, and yes they were installed in numerous brands of cars.
No, I highly doubt that a competitive race driver would have opt for this seat for obvious reasons.
That said, this model of seat is very comfortable for the middle to ageing driver especially paired with the partners 'co-driving' arrangement.
Scheel made the lightest weight racing seats from Fibreglass of 'GRP' not sure but glass reinforced plastic back in the mid 60"s from memory it was a 100 and weighed 5kg.
This seat weight was only beaten by the Recaro Proxy sport in 1974.
Those seats of yours weigh a ton but are one of the most comfortable yet period incorrect seats for a 1970 911.
    Cheers
    Mark

Yes, 100%. They weight a ton, but are comfy for sure. The reason I want to change them is that they are not period correct for my car.
