    Fuse cover bracket (luggage compartment)

    Hi,

We are in the welding process of my 71 T and I have a question.

Did a May 1971 911 T 2.2 have the bracket to maintain the fuse cover? My car does not have it but that section of the car seems to have been replaced.

    Thanks for your help,

    Phil

If you mean the silver curved cover it fits in the slot of the relay support and the other end is held in place by the edge of the battery box.

Yes the the silver curved cover. So this small bracket welded on the flat section in front of the dues holders, seen on the picture above is not original in a 71 ? That’s what I thought too but wasn’t sure.

Here is an image of that area on my '71 911T (May production I believe, last 4 of the vin is 2071)
There has been a crossmember replacement, but that area is as it was from new.

    Hope it helps.

My October ‘70 Karman bodied 911T had the bracket and the cardboard cover. I don’t own the car anymore so I can’t take a picture.

My early ‘71 production (can’t remember the month) Porsche bodied ‘71 911E also has the bracket as well.

    Hi Everyone,

    Thanks for your replies.

Could anyone provide measurements for the missing tab in my car so that we can repro it as close to the one fitted by the factory ?

I'm looking at the image of your car and the image of mine, and I'm not seeing where yours is missing anything...?
