Never seen one of these. I have a 72 a/c car, no hook. It does have a set of Nerf bars that would interfere with a hook as pictured, at least on the side with a hook in place. ( Non-S bumper by the way.)cliff

I think that photo is of the 73 RS that just sold on BaT? I wonder if that is an aftermarket part, that car had a lot of new parts on it.
My 7/72 build 73S with factory A/C has a different bracket, which I presume is original, on the drivers side.

This is from a 72/73 parts book. My 72’ a/c T has the protection which is not pictured in the book! The tow hook listed here, # 46, looks more like a 356 item without the cross brace usually seen in pictures. cliff

The Nerf bars on the bumperettes are to protect the condenser, you can’t pull on them - not strong enough. Since the original tow hook is covered by the condenser a small tube hook was put on the passenger side suspension knuckle. I’ve had a few AC cars and this was the setup. Somewhere I have a pic from a 71 survivor I owned once that had the bar in place, my current pic is from that 73RS but its the same part or very close.
Is the tow hook compatible with the Nerf bars?

Another thought. Will an ‘S ‘ bumper work with a factory a/c car?

Yes an S bumper and factory AC go together but the original tow hook welded to front crossmember is not there. My car missing the nerf bars I can't measure anything to see if they go over the spoiler, or if there are 2 versions - one for std bumper. Anyone with an intact S bumper AC system have a picture?
This is the 71 I had where I first saw the AC tow hook in place. No nerf bars on this car.
A good friend is restoring a 73S with factory AC I saw the other day. His car had the U shaped bar around the condenser cage, I think that is a G model part, anyone know.
