    Original 68 front bumper overriders

Unrestored original early bumper uprights, overriders, bumper horns whatever you call them. Chrome is nice and so is the plastic backings. They have no dents. $200 for the pair, mailed in USA IMG_9014[1].jpgIMG_9015[1].jpgIMG_9016[1].jpgIMG_9017[1].jpgIMG_9019[1].jpg

These are for 68 and later, not 66-67. They might "fit" but are not correct. Pre 68 had steel back/tops with a slit across the top, not plastic.

I thought 65-73 used the same bumper guards?

Only very early ones were steel backed or with the slit. '68 or later would have rubber strips and wider trim. Not all SWB were solid steel backed. Porsche found a cheaper way to make them without the manual labor of welding together the backs and finish working them before chrome process.

Why do you still maintain your pieces are for 66-67? Your comment above (#6) is nonsensical to the matter at hand. Someone who buys these for 65 - 67 will be getting pieces that might fit, but will be incorrect for their car. The ones shown from Sierra Madre by cdang are also incorrect for 65 - 67 cars although, yes, like yours, they will fit. None of this matters unless it is important to the owner that he/she has parts that are correct. Nevertheless, it is misleading to list these as "original 65-67" pieces. They are not.

How Rude! Who are you? Let's find out , so I'm asking others to chime in to this "discussion" I'm sure that all pre-'68 SWB 911's & 912's were not welded solid backed front overriders. Anyone have proof? I don't have my Brett Johnson book handy, so someone please clarify.

Well the Good Dr Johnson's book on page 42 states "The steel guards with the slot at the top were replaced by ones with the black plastic inserts at the upper rear around the beginning of the 1968 model year"

    Carry on.
