Info thickness of standard body and lightweight body sheet metal for 911 S my 71'

    Good morning,
i'm trying to understand the thickness of the sheets in mm in the original factory panels for both standard bodies and for bodies defined or definable as "light" for sports purposes or FIA homologation.

Could someone give me precise information about this data and possibly post some factory documents if they exist ?

I read the thread about the Carrera RS and i read the differences between the standard body (0.88mm>0.9mm) and the lightweight body (0.8mm); i would like to know more about whether these data are also valid for the my 71' cars or understand the correct data, if different.

I'm sure this is the best place to ask, there are super professional people 😉

    Many thanks

    Andry

Use the search function for "light weight body." Many threads such as:

    Thank you very much @ejboyd5,
read several threads, but i didn't find any precise information, so i started another one.
In the thread you posted, there is also talk about how to best measure the thicknesses, there are those who give very interesting information on the thickness of the lightweight internal panels for example, but not clearly on the external sheet metal (which probably have slightly different thicknesses).

Furthermore, i believe that measuring the sheet metal on the final part, where it closes, is not entirely indicative and real as a measurement; maybe it's my opinion, not necessarily correct.

Instead, the documentation reported in the thread on the Carrera RS is very explicit and useful and gives data for both the lightweight and standard bodywork.

I would like to understand if there is reliable data from those who actually measured the original sheet metal, both standard and for lightweight bodies....
And also if the data provided for the Carrera RS is also valid for the my 71' (there is little time difference between the cars, even if it's a completely different project...)

Thank you very much for your intervention

    Andry
