Maybe a reminder needs to go out ?!!

(I’ll be honest, I’m bored of reading identical, and almost identical, ads year after year ….)
When you have a chance, feel free to PM me items of concern. As for repetitive ads, I guess they’re only as good as people’s collections!

It would probably be pretty slow. And there’s not enough time in the day to monitor!

It’s the odd one or two vendors who are determined to play games — a recent example of questionable action was twice deleting and reposting the same item on same day deliberately to lose / disconnect factual comments. Behaviour that was obviously intended to effective censor relevant “evidence” that would help less knowledgable buyer understand the nuance. Vendors doing that to surpress facts is not in the spirt of the forum imo.

This forum is not a vendors personal Craig’s list to swamp — it should be about sharing and learning — a place where encourage not discourage factual input. Some of the best learning has been when FS threads get factual input and the community energises by contributing knowledge and datapoints that educate. A few vendors get called out here for selling a lot but contributing little less. Worse still if Nkw begin to allow vendors to play games that effectively suppress others who choose to sharing factual evidence on their FS listings. Cynical action like that rather betrays mindset of some vendors .

Of course it is positive to see items for sale if posted according to the rules and vendors show good faith by taking onboard factual comments intended to help buyers. One vendor recently stated they regarded factual input to FS post as “hacking” and “ruining listing” then showed the true colours by deliberately twice deleting and reposting to disconnect the FS post from the factual input. It’s not picking on someone to stamp it out — done allow vendor to play the victim if anyone comments on their FS posts with facts . Focus volunteer moderator time and effort where there is evidence of games being played to circumvent the rules and or to swamp the forum with FS items that are not in the correct section.

Don’t allow it to be a game to play cat and mouse from one or two — likely scale vendors know the rules and the nuance of FS parts bur choose to push it. Intervene where will have impact, hopefully once mesage sent then moderation can be on the occasional misunderstanding or less experienced who might need guidance.

I recommend it’s about moderator intervening where most effect on certain cases to get the balance right by showing what is the spirit of how FS should be done in this community. It’s not right having to add/change and enforce the letter of the “rules” due to one or two. Sadly playing games is taking things that direction in a hobby forum — it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
