    67S 911 - Correct gear knob?

Looking through various photos and threads I have found them with and without the shift pattern, anyone have any details of known 'reference' cars that can clarify which is correct? (Car is a RHD 1967 911S coupe, completed in April 1967)

    Thanks
    Tim

In Dr. Johnson's book, he states the round knob without the shift pattern was used through '67. The shift pattern started in '68. Exactly when that transition occurred I'm not sure. Perhaps others have more details...

Thanks gentlemen, that is pretty definitive Chuck, excellent! Looks like an extract from the Workshop Manual (?), do you have any details on the specific manual/section?

I believe it is from a service bulletin issued to the dealers. Like you I also have an April delivery and several years ago found it posted online when I was restoring my car. Might have been the 912 forum.

    Hi Tim,
The picture is taken from the Workshop Manual, for the German edition section NH (Nachtrag Hinterachse/ Supplement rear axle) page 29, page after the LSD description.

I know the later '67 MY cars had shift patterns . If the car has a threaded shift lever , the knob does not have a pattern , impossible for the threads to stop with the pattern in the correct position , The windshield has or had a shift pattern decal .
