Has this old photo been posted here before? 911 chassis 300055 being prepared possibly Dec 64 (or more likely it was taken early January 65 as it a
has entry number 147 decal ) as used for the Monte Carlo Rally at of 16 January 1965:

The 911 was homologated December 1964 and the work was undertaken in the test workshop.

Thanks. I have updated the list on the first page with your contributions. Here’s another photograph of Meyer at Bad Neuenahr, 11-April-1965

Thanks for additional information that indicates Ernst Paulson was not the first driver of a 911 in competition.

The next listing in RacingSportsCars.com is for Franz G. Meyer driving a 911 in the ADAC-Hansa-Pokal-Rennen Nürburgring held on 9 May 1965. There is very little information on this race or driver that I can find on the web, but I will continue to search to see if there is anything more conclusive.

    Ecostellodo,

RacingSportsCars lists a driver with an earlier win than Ryan, Coleman and Bencker, the drivers of 300128 in the Fifth Annual Daytona 24 Hour Continental held on 6 February 1966. Charles Slade drove to a first in SCCA D Production class at the Paul Whiteman Challenge Cup Races Dayton held on 5 September 1965. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other drivers that had wins earlier than Charles Slade given that the 911 had been released a year earlier.

Here's a picture of Charles Slade's car at the Second Annual American Road Race of Champion held on 28 November 1965.

Charles Slade also raced his 911 at Courtland Raceway in Huntsville, Alabama during a July 3-4 1965 SCCA National race (1st and 2nd clipping) and a July 17-18 race at Palm Beach International Raceway, Florida (3rd, 4th, and 5th clipping) and directly behind Peter Gregg according to these news reports. Notice the claim from the first article from July 2nd that the 911 had been out "less than 60 days" in the United States.

Notice the D-Production entry as per the photo you sent.

He also raced the same car presumably in May 27-28, 1967 at Thompson in B-Sedan

I think it's highly likely it was Ken Fullerton, who was owner of AutoEngineering in Connecticut. He raced with the SCCA, "driving a Porsche 911 then a BMW 2002 from 1966 to 1982, and winning the New England Region B Sedan Championship in 1964, 1965 and in 1975, 1976."
