    ignition dash installation

Hello, I am installing a new steering lock mechanism into my 70 911E. The reinforcement plate that came with the mechanism does not seem to line up with the space for it on the dash. Am I missing something or do I need to modify/massage parts to fit?

The steering wheel lock is a newer part and the reinforcement plate does not seem to be for the dash opening.

Use the old one. If there wasn't one then you don't need it. Doesn't even look like the holes line up.
