    Radio Mount Question... help!

    I really thought I had everything to finally install the Frankfurt.
    It seems the mounting adapter that worked with the Becker Europa ain't likin' the Frankfurt too much. No way to mount it so the dial pokes through enough to come through the dash trim strip.

    Below are some pics of the situation. Anyone have a pic of the adapter I need? Or better yet... one for sale?? I already contacted Josep @ Old Auto Radio - he doesn't have any right now.

    As always, thanks in advance!

    Hi JCR,

    just a thought after looking at the pic, can you turn the adapter the other way? I don't remember mine being resessed at all. I'll post a pic of it in the dash, I don't know if it'll help though.

    Hi JCR;

    Were you able to install the Frankfurt? I have the same problem, but have no adaptor. I just have the frankfurt and the hole. What are you doing about a faceplate?

    If you do get to install it, any shared experiences might be useful.

    JCR:
    You need the 3 mounting pieces for the radio. There are two side pieces that bolt to the control stems and a third that is fixed to the car and the back of the radio slides into. I would take pictures, but mine are in use. I think that you can still buy them.

    Thanks for the info guys. This helps a lot.

    Bill, what material are the black rectangular pieces around the knobs?
    Rubber or plastic?

    How does the rear support bracket attach to the body? I think mine has been removed at some point.

    Old Radio/ back bracket

    Hi JCR --How do you contact Joesph at Old Radio. I did not see a contact terminal at the website. The bracket that holds the back end of the radio to the fire wall has two tabs that slide into two holes. I think it just sits there by friction. Thats the theroy since my back bracket was already on the car.Hope this helps Chris 70S R0- gruppe #144/ Early S reg.

    I looked at several cars at the GAF recently as I wanted to know the answer to the same question. The back plate in the last picture pushes into a similar but smaller looking plate that bolts to the bulkhead, it just holds it in place no bolts etc that I could see. The front pieces are as shown in the pic. I recently installed a Koln this way and all seems well no rattles.
