This is an April build I believe and I think one of the very first ever in Australia. It is one of only 6 2.4S Targas imported (there were only 9 coupes) and I have been told it was used as the display car at our biggest car show then the Sydney Motor show.

Clyde's car is actually quite significant... It featured in a number of magazine articles here, and the number plate RA291 was the number of the then Sales / GM of Scuderia Veloce - Robert Atkin (who sadly passed away recently).

A friend of mine who worked for SV at the time remembers the cars as a Tuesday car... everything about it was right.

Scuderia Veloce was the sole Porsche representative in Sydney for a number of years, and was started by the late David McKay - who owned the most successful Ferrari 250 LM in the world. Bob was his mechanic, and later sales manager, 2IC and then Director.

I was privileged enough to have known both of these gentlemen (and in both cases the term is appropriate), and the stories they could tell... knowledge they could impart was breathtaking. They're probably both racing around heaven in something delectable as I type this...

    Justin,

I think I should be able to manage to get two windscreens and some carpet into the car before October and cleaning it shouldn't take too long!

Now the 2000km journey to and from Sydney that will be great for the motor but not so good for the paintwork so might have to hitch a TNT ride I think.

Be assured RA 291 will there, god willing.

Nice infor on my car too. How can we verify the Sydney Show thing?
