My i say Happy Thanks Giving to all, one of the things i miss from the US, the stuffing, no stuffing here![]()
Happy thanksgiving to everyone. But, Platas, now that we deep fry our bird, there isn't any stuffing in it anyway. It has "sadly" become just another casserole on the table.
But are you having Turkey anyway?

Larry, unfortunately no turkey here in spain, but a lot of pork and hamthough, but not the same.
OK platas, I'll trade you 1/2 a turkey and some stuffing and even throw in some cranberry sauce for some jamon serrano and a fresh bottle of manzanilla.
Happy TDay to all;
John

Here are a few restaurants in Spain that will hook you up with some thanksgiving turkey
MADRID. On a return trip from the United States, Kim Manning, owner of Cornucopia (Flora 1, 011-34-91-547-6465), said she got funny looks clearing customs in Spain by declaring several pounds of pecans for her pies. Her Thanksgiving table includes typical American recipes like roast turkey with sage and white wine dressing, and Spanish dishes like Catalan spinach. $35. La Gamella (4 Alfonso XII, 011-34-91-532-4509) always manages to include cranberry sauce in its annual all-you-can-eat dinner of candied yams, mashed potatoes and vegetable succotash accompanying turkey. $35. If you're departing Madrid on Thanksgiving, chow on turkey and apple pie at Rancho Texano (Barcelona Highway, Milepost 12.3, 011-34-91-747-4736), near Barajas Airport. $41

Well, on this day of Thanksgiving, I have to post a gratuitous picture of my granddaughter. The miracle of life is a sight to behold. And there all kinds of jokes about "the only reason to have kids is that they give you grandchildren," and the like.
But, she is precious, smiles when she sees us all, and is a joy to hold - at only 5 months.
All the best to everyone.

Platas,
No turkey for me here in Switzerland either. But like Larry, I have other things to be thankful for: my first child, 5 month old Charley Coco...
