1973 Porsche hardtop 911T (T for Targa) ..
This car is rare and ALL ORIGINAL!
The car has an original Porsche replacement engine.. from a 1966 912 ..
The replacement engine is in excellent original condition except it ran out of oil 9 years ago and seized.. The engine is all original and not modified except for the carbs, pistons, crank and case and has been stored in the car without the air cleaners in the northwest.. There is no longer water in the carbs or the cylinders because of all of the leaves and because they have had many summers to dry out..
The car has the original paint in very good condition under the Bondo and four different color repaints..
This car has absolutely no rust!
All of the rusted out floors and rockers have been cut out and are ready to be replaced..The rusted fenders have also been removed and all the rust was cut out of the doors and lock posts..We saved all of the rusty pieces with the original paint on them because we know how important original paint is!!!
The car would make a great race car because of the reduced weight..
The areas were the suspension bolts to in both the front and back has been ground down to remove all of the rusted out metal and then they have been professionally fiber-glassed for strength!..
We even cut all the rusted metal out of the gas tank and a large rusted section above the front windsheild on the roof..
The car is a 1973 and has the original (rear first gear) type transmission.. The trans works great if shifted very slowly or at a full stop.. and is otherwise perfect except for the growling noises it makes when the car was moving.. The trans only leaks the normal amount of oil from the seals and gasgets..
I think the brakes are still good..You can step on the brake pedal with both feet and with all your might and the brakes feel rock solid.. In fact the brake pedal does not move even a tiny bit.. Now those are good brakes!
The car has the 4 original aluminum wheels! They are McAfee wheels from Performace Products..There is a receipt for over $305 for the wheels from 1976..
The cars wiring system is all original.. The wiring was spliced under the hood and in the engine compartment for the new engine with original wires from another Porsche.... All the unused wires were cut and professionally taped!..They put in extra original switches on the dash next to the radio for the electric fuel pump and one extra one as and option!
The interior is in great shape for the age of the car.. If you can find a pair of original seats (there are none in the car) and have them re-upholstered in the same color green with red piping like the rest of the interior was dyed (dash and door panels) the interior will look 100% original except for a few small cracks..
There are only a few minor parts that are missing that may be required to finish the car.. Like the 5 gauges, misc suspension/steering parts, all the lights( front and rear) and all of the glass..
The Porsche experts who have offered to sell me some of the missing parts and do the restoration work PROMISE that when finished the car will be better then new and a 100 point SHOW CAR! .. How can you loose?
Because the car is very rare I have decided to offer the car for sale to another "Porsche enthusiast" for only what I have in the car including my time..
$23,500 or best offer..
This post is for the some of guys in the group who understand.. ( a typical for sale ad)
