I'm no expert, but these look like deep 6's to me. Not identified as such, so you may get a deal.

No affiliation, etc., just thinking someone on the board may need a set.

I emailed the seller yesterday. I think they are repros, as he didn't see any numbers on the back.

I read that Fuchs did away with the "hearts" on the later deep 6's because they were more expensive to manufacture. Maybe in repros the cost is not an issue, but you wouldn't think they would go to the trouble of the little bump.
I'd tell him to wipe off the grime and look carefully for a stamp of some sort![]()
My consultants are meeting to discuss this now.......![]()

Being originally from the VW crowd, all of the repros I see have hearts. Being cast wheels, the additional detail of having hearts makes no difference in manufacturing. They just copied the wheels years ago and made no changes.

So, here's a new twist. Looks like ONE wheel is real. He found numbers on one wheel, but can't find any on the other three! ODD.![]()

I love this stuff! The plot thickens. So he has one definite and then 3 unknowns? Unusual mix, wouldn't you say?
I hope somebody ends up scoring a nice set of wheels for a great price for once.
Does he have any "weird-looking fog lights" with no names on them?
Kenik - my sister has a '71 Westi.

I guess I've never seen fake deep sixes.

I am sure that those were original. To my knowledge, the only "deep" wheels ever re-pop'd were by Flat-4 in the last two years.
All other repops I have seen had very sharp edges on the spokes or wheel weight lips on the rim.

Some of the early deep sixes only had ink stamps ala the R wheels.
