That's true - I need the Euro SWB taillights, which are different to the US ones.

    Lenses are easy to replace

I did the fronts for my '67 and it was a breeze. Grind or file off the tabs on the back of the lenses to remove the old lens. Clear away all the old glue and seal on the housing. Clean the inside of the housing while you have them apaprt. Carefully (the tabs break easily) test fit the replacement lens. After test fitting, I applied a good bead of clear silicone to seal the replacement lens. Clamp the replacement lens in place with 6-7 small spring clamps, the type with the orange rubber covers on the tips worked well because they gripped the housing and the lens pretty well. When the lens is firmly in place, use a soldering iron to melt the tabs on the back down to where they hold the lens tightly against the housing. Let the whole thing cure for at least a day before filing away any unwanted plastic bits.

The only thing I would ad to Sacto's excellent conbtribution is to do both left and right. The colors might be different from the original amber to the repro amber. You can find good core housings for cheap then buy the repro lenses.

    A very good point!

    Thanks Bob!

Do both sides at the same time AND varify that both lenses are the same BEFORE you begin. You could even request that the supplier double check the color of the lenses for a close match prior to shipping. I believe I got mine repalcement lenses through Performance Products. They were a good match when they arrived.

One additional point is that the swb lenses are attached to the housings with hollow copper/brass rivets (as well as the melted plastic tabs on the rear) not screws.

The old rivets need to be drilled out - new rivets are supplied with the replacement lenses.
