Notes: "hi i am listing a 1969 porsche 911 e. this is a true barnfind. first off the car is pretty much all original.it has all the factory upgrades that could be on the car in 1969,such as power windows and a factory ac system.the ac compressor is missing.this car has real fuchs wheels and it has a fifth fuch wheel.the interior is original and in great condition, almost perfect exept for the drivers seat wich has some cracks.the wiring throughout the car is perfect and hasnt been mickey moused with.i dont really know the condition of the engine and i havent tried to start it because the car has sat for 20 years and im some precautions have to be taken before running it, the tranny works fine . this is a euro spec car, all the knobs and buttons are in german and the speedo tach is in kilometers.i have the original delivery paper work from germany dating back from 1969, wich have the vin and the engine nummber on them........ the only reason im selling the car is because i recently proposed to my now fiance and i need wedding money ....i forgot to mention the rust is very minimal surface rust and there is no rust in the floor pan or anywere inside at all!, so bid with confidence"

  3. #63
    Year: 1971
    VIN Number: 9111200406
    Winning bid: US $21,100.00
    Date sold: Apr-05-07
Notes: "An original CA blue plate Porsche that resided for years in the dry East Bay area of San Francisco, the body of this 911E is free of the usual rust and is very straight.

    BODY, TRIM and PAINT

Body condition is what you’d expect from a original California car, since sold new. The body is free of major rust in any of the usual areas (floors, trunk, rockers, battery boxes, lower doors, wheel wells, etc.). Other than a minor dent at the tip of the trunk lid, the body is straight and free of the usual door dings and dents. Trunk lid, engine lid and both doors shut fine with excellent gaps. All chrome trim is in excellent condition with no pitting or major scratches. Glass is also excellent, with a clear and chip free windshield and clear original side and rear glass windows. The original front spoiler has been replaced with the more attractive S style spoiler. Bumper guards are the black rubber style unique to the 1973 911's, but one correct chrome bumper guard is included with the car. Light lenses are in good condition with no cracks. Door handles, side emblems and trim and trunk latch also have very good chrome.

The professional paint job is 5 years old and although not an original color for the '71 911E, it is nonetheless a very attractive color (Black Diamond, which is a newer BMW paint color). The paint finish is in excellent condition with only a few minor rock chips. The color looks great with the various chrome parts on the car. The interior of the trunk and some areas under the carpet still show the original Irish Green paint.

    INTERIOR

The front seats were professionally restored 3 years ago in correct black vinyl and correct pattern. There are no rips in the front or rear seats. The original dash pad is in fair condition with the usual cracks, but it's the original and looks much nicer than the "quick fix" aftermarket dashes. Gauges, switches and knobs on the face of the dash are all in very good original condition. Amazingly, the original German Silverknit carpet is still in fair condition with only a few worn areas showing. The original steering wheel was replaced with a smaller and thicker rimmed aftermarket wood wheel, but an original style steering wheel and horn pad will be included with the car. The door panels are in good condition, but are missing the original pull down map pockets. The front fixed door pockets are not mounted, but are included with the car.

    ELECTRICALS

Headlights (low/high), tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, hazard switch, wipers, gauge lights, stereo and horn are functional. The starter spins fine and alternator charges fine. Speedometer, tachometer, fuel, oil temp and pressure gauges are fully functional and all warning lights are working. The heater blows warm once the engine has warmed up. The original two 12V battery setup has been retained and both Interstate brand batteries look fairly new. Though not equipped with a stock radio, the Panasonic CD/AM/FM stereo puts out decent power and has good sound quality.

    SUSPENSION, WHEELS, TIRES and BRAKES

Suspension rides very well with recently installed new tie rods, new front and rear shocks and new front wheel bearings. A full brake job was performed 2 years ago and the car stops very well with more than 50% of front and rear brake pads remaining. The original date matching (all are dated 6/70) Fuchs 14" x 5.5" wheels, including the spare, are included with the car and are in excellent original condition, but a later set of 16" Fuchs rims are currently installed with new Continental radial tires (size 205/55HR16 in front and 225/50HR16 in the rear). So the winning bidder can go either for the original look or keep the originals on the shelf and retain the wider rims for improved handling.

    ENGINE and TRANSMISSION

Engine is the original 2.2 liter (engine number 6210657). The odometer shows 29,171 miles, which is actually 129,171 miles. The engine has likely been rebuilt at least once in the past or has been very well maintained. It has excellent power, doesn't smoke, doesn't leak oil and has no unusual noises. It emits a great sounding throaty roar when accelerating! The most recent engine related repairs include the following:

New clutch and pressure plate installed 2 to 3 years ago.
Full tune up completed, including new distributor cap, rotor and ignition wires.
Recently installed rebuilt mechanical fuel injection pump by Pacific Fuel Injection.
New set of heat exchangers and switched back from sport to stock muffler.
    Installed new K&N air filter
The original 901 transmission shifts smoothly with no synchro grinding in any of the gears. It's either been rebuilt at some point in the past or was very well cared for. A new clutch was installed less than 3 years ago.

    EXTRA PARTS

Parts include original set of five Fuchs alloy 14X5.5 wheels all date coded 6/70, original front fixed door pockets, one chrome bumper guard, original steering wheel (an aftermarket wood wheel is currently installed) and horn pad, partial tool kit with bag, set of chrome PORSCHE letters for engine lid, rear deck luggage strap brackets and thick car cover."

    Year: 1971
    VIN Number: 9111200397
    Winning bid: US $20,599.00
    Date sold: Apr-08-07
Notes: "No reserve auction for this 1971 911E coupe! These cars are getting very hard to find, especially a solid example like you see here. Being a 911 only repair shop, we have serviced this car through the years and regard this a good example of an early E coupe with only 61,500 original miles. This car is rust free, straight and solid, and after close inspection, no accident damage/repair to our knowledge. According to the May 2007 edition of Excellence magazine, early 911 values continue to climb and we have this car priced accordingly at $19,000.

We are selling this car for a long time customer who had decided to sell due to just not driving it enough to justify keeping it. The car was repainted years ago and even though the paint looks good, it is starting to show its age and has several rock chips and "peppering" on the front. As you can see from the pics, the interior is in excellet condition. This car runs and drives strong! The mechanical fuel injection is dialed in and and all maintenance is up to date.

The car sits on 14" Fuchs and Michelin Pilots showing very little wear. New pads and rotors along with S-type aluminum calipers. As you can see it has the S front bumper and S gauges. The suspension has been updated with H&H sway bars. The exterior and rear view mirrors are aftermarket non-Porsche items as is the AM/FM/Cassette stereo."

    Winning bid: US $3,106.00
    Date sold: Apr-07-07
Notes: "You are bidding on a 1969 Porsche 911 Targa. This is being listed for a friend so I have limited knowledge of this vehicle, I am relying on the documents and notes of previous owner's and my own brief viewing to compile a description, you should be able to derive from the photos that this vehicle will need restoration and is not presently driveable.

For the most part I observed that it is complete and solid but with surface rust and corrosion from a long period of storeage. It is obvious also that a restoration was the intention as most all trim was removed and the sheet metal was previously primered. There are the normal dents and creases on the body panels but all are more or less superficial and easily repaired. The rocker panels have been removed, the windscreen has been impacted at the lower left hand corner but all other glass is intact, the interior leather is poor as are the door panels, the dashpad on the other hand, appears to only need a thorough cleaning, dashboard guage bezels have significant corrosion.

The Targa rollbar cover of brushed stainless steel is in good condition. Though the motor is reported to have been rebuilt and free turning, it will no doubt need attention. The car is equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission. It is noted that the plated wheels are in need of rechroming. There are a number of boxed parts that include, taillamps headlamps, body trim, interior trim, etc and is included, along with an original door and engine lid for spares. The original color was a dark maroon. The odometer registers 89422 which is believed to be the original and actual mileage. From the original sales and warranty service document, the car was sold in San Pietro, Calif., it was first serviced in Pasedena and Monrovia, from there service was also documented in Boston, Mass and Wilmington, Del., an owner was recorded in Westchester,PA. and it was last titled in Ohio.

Rumor has it that the car also spent time in Hawaii, but I find no written documention confirming that. All in all, it is a complete car, engine, trans, etc. intact and to be sold as is , where is and for the purpose of restoration or spare parts, with no implied warranty. Please study the photos for condition. Indoor storeage was recently lost and it will be outdoors under cover until sold. Arrangements must be made for local pickup only. It is suggested by full bed trailer, a car dolly is not recommended. No Shipping.

Remember there are no old Porsches, only new owners!"

    Notes: "1970 Porsche 911E.
Owned 25 years ( second owner). Engine has 0 miles on fresh rebuild 2.7
220HP. All S options including gauges, front suspension and steel S bumper. This vehicle has minimal surface rust. It's a sunroof delete with Momo Prototipo steering wheel and leather sport seats.
Basically you're buying an S for the price of an E.

By sunroof delete I meant to say the car came without a sunroof, so it isn't a sunroof that was welded shut.
    The engine number is 6230872
It is a 1973 911 2.4 E block with a big bore kit. It has 2.7 Nickasils and E cams.
Heads are original fuel injected heads ported and polished and the carb setup can be reversed to fuel injection.
The rebuild of the engine was done in fall of 2006 after which the car went back into winter storage, where it still is.
The car has rust bubbles, which is captured in the the close up pictures."

PMO DOES KEEP RECORDS AND IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS REALLY DONE AS OPPOSED TO WHAT WAS RUMORED TO BE DONE (i.e. PPO STATED WAS TO S SPEC and REBUILT??was it really??)DOES APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN APART AND REBUILT BUT I WONT TAKE THAT CLAIM...IT SURE DRIVES HANDLES FULL POWER LIKE IT HAS BEEN.

YOU COULD EASILY RETURN THIS CAR TO ITS OLD VINTAGE LOOK AND HAVE A 73RS CLONE...THEY ARE OFTEN SELLING FOR AS MUCH AS $30-40K RANGE SO THIS IS A FOOT IN THE DOOR IMO AND THIS CAR IS AN EXCELLENT UNMOLESTED CALIFORNIA GEM."

Notes: "You are bidding on a great driving 911e w/ 1979 3.0sc Engine and 915 Trans. This car is very quick.

Exterior: The exterior of this car is very clean. The paint is in very good shape as with the chrome. This car has the RS ducktail rear spoiler as well as RS front spoiler. The car does have rust underneath, and I have taken pics to show the affected areas. This car looks great.

Interior: The interior of this car is also in very good shape. It has a new carpet kit installed, crackfree dash, nice Recaro seats and good doorpanels.

Engine/Transmission: I do have an original 69 911e engine case for this car(6291150), if the next owner wants to convert it back. But this car has a GREAT running, very strong
3.0sc engine it. It does not smoke and makes great power. It has a custom dual exhaust that makes the car sound great. This car is a joy to drive. The engine has just under 70k miles on it. The car has great oil pressure. The 915 5spd transmission shifts smoothly between all gears and does not make noise.

Wheels/Suspension: This 911 has good tires on it and handles great. The suspension is great and allows for a very smooth ride. This car has good brakes and stops the car nicely.

Overall: This is an EXCELLENT driving 911 and is truely a joy to drive. The lights, horn and electricals work great on this car. However, the radio does not work."
