Looks like a neat car, and at $32K with no reserve, it might set a new benchmark for US Carreras. These things just keep ticking along up the price ladder.
Could be bought at a steep discount to the $66K resto bill. There are a few things I don't like if one is going to spend that kind of money though, i.e., incorrect mirrors, engine fan decal, yellow engine shroud instead of green. All easily correctable, however.

I don't see what s special about this car. It is a basically a US 74 911S with a Carrera badge. 175HP versus 210 for the real Euro Carrera is a big difference.
I wonder how many newbies think that they are bidding on a carrera.
For a $66k cost on this retoration, this owner got hosed. In addition to the incorrect aspects mentioned by J-P, did anyone else notice that the headlights door handles and wheels are painted yellow, the drivers door pocket/arm rest is broken, the door/window trim appears to be painted "High gloss" instead of Satin black.Originally Posted by J-P

None of these indiscretions by themselves is critical, but add them all up and the bill will be several thousand dollars.
If this person truly spent $66k on top of his purchase price for this car, his money was not well spent.
The bidding is at $32k which (to me anyway) is already too much for this particular '74 Carrera. You might still be able to find a decent '76 Turbo(twice the car & twice the potential) for this same money. JMHO

You are right, though. Basically the same car as the 911S, but with Carrera sidescript (optional), rear flares (standard), and 6 and 7 x 15 Fuchs (standard) instead of 6's all the way around. 7's and 8's were an option for '74, standard in '75 when they also went to black centers.
Not too long ago European Collectibles had an original paint (original everything so they claimed) US Carrera. They were asking somewhere in the $60K's and it did sell, although I don't know what the final price was. I saw the car and it looked quite nice, but I'm skeptical of that organization's claims on originality.
