Where to drill hole for antenna on '68?

Hi all, I just bought a '68 911 (bahama yellow with black interior) and the manual antenna is in the driver's side door cavity, however there is no hole drilled in the fender to mount it. Can someone give me some measurements or a template so I can drill this hole? Also, what size is the hole?

I think I have the Hirschman antenna, it has the long cylinder and I have a large black tip on it (from what I can see peeking between the door and fender.

Also, I see an angled plate on the antenna mast, but I need the other missing hardware. Where is a good place to get that?

Congratulations on your purchase, the car looks good and the color is fantastic! I would not drill a hole on the wing (it must be a restored wing or a new one) because it's not worth it! Just plugging an ipod onto the stereo is normally enough music!

I agree with Milou.

I think someone makes an amplified under dash radio antenna. See if you can find one by googling it, but don't put a hole in a virgin fender.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to look into the underdash antenna idea. I really don't want anything fancy in this car, the sweet sounds of the flat 6 are almost enough!
