Notes: "I have too many Porsche projects....some have to go!! This is a very restorable 72 911. I have ALL THE PARTS YOU NEED!! These guys were fairly rare, have the external oil filler on rear fender, which porsche used for only one year. The car was under a cover for 10 years, so the moisture has really damaged the exterior surfaces. A good sand/media blast will do wonders for this one. The bottom is in very solid condition, one of the nicest I 've seen. Don't let the outer skin scare you off.!!! The interior carpet is gone, seats are original, have some spitting, but again, are all there and in very restorable shape. The engine is a turbo charged 2.7, which ran 10 years ago. We also have most of the 2.4 liter engine that came with the car. Regular steel wheels. If you need/want a great project for the upcoming months, you should really look into this one."

Notes: "You are looking at one of the first long wheel base 911's made - Chassis number #00028. I need to sell this car from my personal collection to finance some of my other 911 restorations. This car was sold new in 1970, but was actually built on 10/68. That, along with all the special order options, leads me to believe it was a factory/show car. I purchased it from the son of the "original LA owner" with all books, records, and California Black Plate with all DOT stickers going back to new. The son inherited this special model back in the late '80's and proceeded to spend over $42,000.00 to make it like new.

EXTERIOR - The body work and panel fit on this car is unbelievable. I had the front valance resprayed due to some minor road rash. The professional bodyman, who has restored no fewer than 5 of my personal porsches, thought the paint was original as there is no overspray anywhere and it is a lacquer paint ( not a base coat/clear coat ). The truth is that it was repainted back in 1992 at a cost of over $15,000.00, as stated by the PPO. NO rust ever. No panels ever replaced or any accident. While I have detailed the underside of the car, I have not touched the undercoating. Factory "S" type moldings and 15" x 6" heart shape Fuchs. I removed the front bumper overiders as I like the clean look, but they are included with the sale if you want to have them bolted back on.

INTERIOR - While the interior was already restored in the 90's, it was dyed black from the original orange. I had GAHH in LA use a color matched orange leather to professionally redo the Recaro sport seats and side panels - this is per code # 9921 on the COA from the factory. The cost to do this was over $7,000.00, but it was worth it. The interior is just fantastic. You could copy it, but it wouldn't be factory as on this car. "S" gauges and original factory leather steering wheel.

MECHANICAL - Both the orginal 2.0 motor and 4 spd. trani have been professionally rebuilt and detailed. The motor has less than 100 miles. The carbs have been upgraded to Webers. It was ordered from the factory w/ the 4 spd. to allow for better acceleration on the hills outside LA - A.K.A. "canyon racer". "S" swaybars, brakes, and Koni shocks. This is a fun, quick, good handling 911.

EXTRAS - Along with the owner's manual and warranty books, the car comes w/ the original factory paint touch up stick, unusual delivery documents, factory Certificate of Authenticity and a binder w/ countless records.

This is a one-off car that can not be copied as factory correct, and come up for sale very rarely."

    Notes: "1971 Porsche 911T Targa

    2.2 liter Engine Type 911/07 #6116771, 4 speed Manual

    65500 miles

    History

Purchased in 1983 with approximately 62,000 miles. Repainted Red over original Green in 1985. Interior reupholstered at the same time; seats, carpets, front trunk carpet. Targa top recovered in and out. Car was seldom used and placed in storage in 1987. Car was put back in service in 2003. This car is a very nice attractive driver, not a PCA Concours car, and is priced accordingly. I believe the mileage to be correct.

    Mechanical

Independent Porsche shop checked out the car when returned to service fixing or replacing anything needed for safety and reliability including; Stainless Steel heat exchangers and muffler, new distributor & cap, rebuild fuel pump, fuel tank sender, shift & pedal bushings, clutch cable, carbs rebuilt, brake caliper kits, 2 CV joints. Oil leaks addressed as follows; reseal cam chain housings, resurface valve covers, oil return tube seals, crank pulley seal.

    Body and paint

Red is non Porsche color, very bright but not as orange as the pictures look. Picture 22 is close. Painted with single stage Du Pont Centri acrylic enamel. Paint remains in excellent condition. The windshield was not removed for painting and there is some overspray on the seal. The only green you will see is in the engine compartment. As pictures indicate, car is straight down the sides, panel fit is nice and gaps are uniform. There are no major dents, dings, or scratches. One door ding on the passenger door. There was a small area of surface rust on the underside forward of the gas tank where the under coating is scraped off, corrected after listing started- see update below– end of rust story. Original chrome wheels, Small pitted area on one wheel. Original size tires – 165R 15.

    Interior

Interior is in very good condition. The dash top is very nice with no cracks or warping. Carpet in overall very good condition, and is of the later, heaver material (like an SC). All gauges work except the clock. Non original seats installed, original seats available. Buyer choose one set - original or high backs. No modifications were made to the seat tracks so the excellent original seats will bolt back in. This car is used for touring, the high backs are safer and more comfortable. New – Retractable seat belts (didn’t come on 71’s), Sun visors (later SC style), all Targa top seals, Vent window rubber seals, Door seals, Window channels. . No door pockets. Two scrapes on the passenger side lower knee pad. Gauge faces are faded.

    Miscellaneous

Tons of receipts. Targa top is in very good condition. New - front & rear hood shocks, 2 new batteries, front hood seal, front & rear deco rubber strips, Weltmeister front and rear tow hooks (for tie down)` Spare and jack, no other tools. No owners manual. Windshield washers not working."

Notes: "This is 1971 Porsche 911T Coupe. The car was bought from older gentleman who could not drive anymore. This car has great potential to be a very nice driver with some TLC. First, off the car runs and drives with new brake hoses. I would consider some minor mechanicals, tune-up Etc... The Interior is in very nice shape with the very sought after door pockets and sun visors and original radio. The seats, carpets and dash are in very good shape. It has the original tool kit and an extra set of zenith carburetors and Porsche books. The car is complete with the very rare Magnesium wheels and spare. These are the lightest wheels Porsche every produced and are very sought after from the Porsche racing circles. The paint is the worse part of the car. The car needs to be striped and repainted with new weather stripping all around. The car will need some additional body work on both side were the Longitudinals are. The gentleman thought in the 80’s fiberglass was the ticket to stop the rust issue. So you will need to replace that. Amazingly in the battery tray and trunk there is no rust. These early 911 are going through the roof in value and are a great investment. This is a great car to do some work to make a very affordable driver.

Notes: "You are bidding on a beautiful rust free 911 survivor. Up for auction is a 1972 Porsche 911 T Targa (vin 9112110453). This Porsche 911 has a Silver exterior with black seats and a black interior. The exterior was repainted in the early 90’s. The interior is very original down to the factory AM radio. This is a very original, low mileage machine that has never been rusted or wrecked. The car has several “S” options. It has 101,467 well documented miles.

This awesome 911 makes loads of power from its rebuilt, very dependable 2.4 liter mechanically injected engine, and the 5 speed transmission is smooth and quiet.

A little History of this car:

I purchased the car in Kentucky back in 1996 (I am the third owner). At the time the car had just over 98,000. I had the car shipped to Colorado. The car had undergone a restoration with a repaint (it was repainted its factory Silver color) new seals and new targa top in the early 90’s. Originally the car had a Sportomatic transmission. After receiving the car and driving it I decided to replace the Sportomatic transmission with a 5 speed. I had purchased the car for my wife to do Driver education events with. The sportomatic transmission was removed and the correct 72 5speed and pedal assembly along with other miscellaneous parts were installed. I also installed larger torsion bars (22F, 28R), plastic bushings and Weltmeister adjustable sway bars front and rear. The wheels were upgraded to 15x7 Fuchs all around. I also installed new carpet as the original was a little worn.

A short time later we lost a oil line at a drivers education event and spun a bearing. Rather than rebuild the existing engine I purchased a recently rebuilt motor from a PCA member who had wrecked their car shortly after having the engine and MFI pump rebuilt (approximately 10K miles). I got the engine installed about the same time as our first child was born. My wife no longer had interest in driving the car with kids so it was used by me only on nice days. Most of the time it has been parked in the garage.

I have driven less than 3000 miles in 11 years and it has always been garage kept. It has been in Colorado for the 11 years I have owned it and has been mostly parked during this time due to the fact that I usually choose to drive my other Porsches (I have three others). The paint while 17 years old is still in good condition as is the interior. The car is very solid and in good condition.

This car has the following features:

    · Fiberglass front “S” spoiler.
    · Silver exterior
    · Black Seats – black interior
    · Tinted Windshield
    · Later three spoke steering wheel
    · Targa top
    · New carpet
    · Aluminum “S” rear valance (were license plate attaches)
    · 2.4L Mechanically fuel injected engine (type 911/51 serial number 6130808)
    · 72 915 5 Speed Transmission (type 915/02 serial number 7337873)
    · Sway-a-way torsion bars 22mm front and 28mm rear
    · Weltmeister adjustable sway bars front and rear
    · S Chrome Package
    · 15 X 7 Fuchs alloys

I am trying to represent the car as honestly as possible. Below are some of the items that are not perfect. I have included pictures of some the items listed below.

The tires (size 205/55-16) are some what worn on the edges from Drivers Education use
There are two spots were the paint is bubbled. One is on the rear of the passenger door and the other is on the driver door jam. The car was this way when I purchased it and has not changed in 11 years.
The engine has some minor oil leaks
There is a scratch about 8” long on the front of the hood.
The passenger seat has a small (2”) tear on seating surface and the release to fold the seat forward is missing.
    Crack in dash by speaker
    Small dent in passenger fender

I have receipts from the previous owner from 1982-1990 for mechanical work. The first two owners were in Kentucky. I purchased the car from the second owner."

Notes: "1972 Porsche 911 with Chevrolet 350 engine conversion done with a Rod Simpson Hybrids Conversion. Original International Orange exterior with black leather interior. Not pristine. There are cracks on the dash and the carpet has some wear holes. Odometer reads 146,218 but there is only about 1,000 miles on the 350 since conversion. Original Porsche gearbox and transaxle. The paint is chipping in the engine compartment. It has a few different shades of orange, as befitting a 35 year old car.

The 350 Chevy has AER aluminum heads and I think it is basically stock. It has Rochestor Quadrjet carb. I bought the car 80% complete from an estate sale. I finished the project mechanically. it is set up for air conditioning with a compressor and lines but not operatable at this time.

The engine is really strong and healthy. Gearbox and synchros are good. Tires are matching Bridgstones."

Notes: "Up for auction 1969 Porsche 911T coup.

This is my friends car, he was working on it for a long time and almost done, but can't finish it and has to let it go. This vehicle does not have much rust, only around windshiel washer reservuar.

This vehicle is not in perfect running condition, it doesn't run properly, might need carburetor adjustment or some other minor work. It does starts, but can't be driven. 10. #440
    Year: 1969
    VIN Number: 119122968
    Winning bid: US $6,105.00
    Date sold: Aug-06-07
Notes: "I've owned this car since May 2005; I bought the car while living in Houston from a Washington state owner. In my ownership I've put appoximately 15K on the car, from May '05 till about the end of '06 this car was my daily driver.

The best way I can describe the car is this: far from perfect, yet pretty solid all the way around for an unrestored, affordable example of 911. I should note here that this is a very reluctant sale, I'll be back in school next week and I simply can't afford to keep the car.

The body is in reasonable shape, allowing for a very tired paint job. There's bascially no visible rust to be seen, and most of the panels (with one exception, see below) seem to fit well. The floor likewise seems to be more-or-less in one piece.

Mechanically the car has been oddly reliable (this was my first Porsche, I think I was expecting more upkeep). In my ownership I've done very little in the way of work: new tires, battery, one brake caliper, a starter, and regular oil changes. The front suspension/steering is very tight, however the shocks front and back are in need of replacement. The brakes and clutch I'd say are average, and the 5-speed gearbox, once you've accustomed yourself to first gear (see below), is in good shape.

The car always drove faithfully; when I moved from Houston to Kansas City I drove the car up (800 miles in a day) and it performed wonderfully without taking any special attention beforehand.

The interior is in respectable shape; the seats have aftermarket covers on them and sag a bit, but are clean and without tears. The dash has a pad on it and the carpet is of the hardware store variety but all in all the interior is presentable. The tach, fuel and oil temp gauges work, but the speedo and clock do not. Wipers, lights, blower motor all work.

I'll try to list items that need attention on the car, but as I'm not not a mechanical or Porsche expert I'm sure I'm omitting more than I'm including; please remember with a car this old in unrestored condition it is virtually impossible to catalog the car fully.

Two notes on the body: courtesy of a SUV I'm sure, I gained a nice dent in a parking lot last summer (see picture of rear quaterpanel). I hammered the dent out and smoothed it over semi-carefully with bondo and didn't worry about it too much, as I had always planned on getting the car painted. I replaced the rear bumper portion as well as that got damaged too.

As mentioned above, the paint is old and tired, to be honest it photographs better then it actually is. However, the paint is mostly crack/orange peel free, and I don't see any need for any bare-metal paint jobs in the future.

The front driver's side fender seems to be torqued just slightly; the lower gap with the hood and door seem to be off. As above, I don't think this is a critcal issue, my experience with the rear quarterpanel showed how thin and bendable Porsche sheet metal is. The front bumper I replaced when I got the car with a shopworn looking replacement, even so better to my eyes than the fiberglass bumper that was on the car when I got it.

Mechanically the car was a daily driver for me and is capable as-is of being one still, but that is not to say that there aren't some worn-out part on the car needing attention. First thing, the new owner will get a car overdue for a tune-up: I think there's a lot of useable horsepower not being accessed right now. I tried to sync the carbs about a month ago and to be honest I think I made it worse, the acceleration feels a bit mushy now and I'm hearing some very faint backfires post-carb work (I'll cheerfully admit I know nothing about carburetor's). With the carb's synced, and timing and valves adjusted the car would perform quite well I'm sure. Also, when I went to buy some new points for the distributor I discovered the car does not have the correct distributor on it right now (it's from a '67 I think); I would assume that's throwing the advance curve off.

The top of the engine is quite clean but unfortunately the bottom half of the engine is quite oily; I think most if not all oil seals underneath need to be replaced. If I remember right the car would burn/drip about 1 quart/500 miles, which oddly enough is well within 1969 tolerances: the book lists 'nominal consumption' of oil as 1.5-2 quarts/600 miles. You will see blue smoke at start-up and heavy accleration.

For any buyer living in a cold climate please note the heater does not work; I don't think the car even has heat exchangers on it. Regarding the gearbox, first gear is fine on the upshift but will crunch on the downshift at speed; I played around with the linkage adjustment and clutch adjustment and managed to get a pretty smooth downshifting first gear out of it, the only thing is fourth/fifth gear became hard to access, so I left it as is. At any rate the problem is I'm sure external to the gearbox and to do with the linkage.

The floors looked solid when I was underneath the car; I did notice some rust issue around the pedal box and common sense would tell me there's more not seen, but all in all when I got the car I was quite pleased with the body.

There are many little items needing attention...the driver's door lock doesn't work...driver's side flexible brake line need replacing...paint bubbles on either door....clutch pedal needs a new return spring...tune-up....and many other things I'm sure I'm forgetting....."
