Early BMW Recaros into early 911?

I see a few very affordable Recaros for early BMW (E30, 320i) on ebay and was wondering if anyone has managed to fit these into a 911?

Early BMW seats in a 911

I did this same seat swap many years ago on a '70 911T. I used Recaro seat mounting brackets and they bolted right in.

Those look great. Any idea what model they were from? E30 M3 maybe?

    Recaros from 320i S

These Recaros were original equipment in the BMW 320i S, circa 1979-80. The 320i with the S option was equipped with a deep front spoiler, 13x5.5 BBS rims and the Recaros.

The BMW dismantlers in California often have these seats. They are popular retrofits into 2002 models and are often seen in those cars redone with basketweave centers and smooth bolsters.

I do not frequent the BMW side of the Bird site but expect you could find them there. They often turn up on the 'bay.

If you frequent the local Pik-a-Part wrecking yard, front buckets are one of the first items to leave a dead vehicle. The price, out the door, is (was) surprisingly inexpensive.

I have them in my 71' Targa, hope to have them done in vinyl & houndstooth like those in the 68'. Very comfortable seats BTW
