    Momo repair

I realize that a new prototipo is only a couple hundred bucks. But, my very worn prototipo would rather be recovered. Momo doesn't make replacement covers. Anybody have ideas on sourcing replacement covers? I would rather not take it to an upholstery shop.

The price you pay to properly recover will be more than a new wheel..... what u r saying just doesnt make much sense................sentimental value here? So you want a new cover w/ worn spokes?

    MOMO recovering

Don't see why Alan Gun or Tony at Autobahn couldn't put a fresh skin on your gennie flat MOMO.

I would definitely look into getting it recovered if the leather is split or worn through - particularly if it is a period wheel that you like.

If it is just getting a little thin on color, try leather cleaner and then redye it with leather dye from the shoe store.

HI speedo, I've been following your fantastic work on your 911R project over on Pelican. http://66.236.61.177/showthread.php?...highlight=911R

Speedo has been doing a complete restoration "R" from a very rusty 912, and has been doing 100% of the work on his own. This guy can fix anything! I'm sure he would like the satisfaction of repairing his MOMO wheel.

Tony at autobahn would probably sell you the leather to do it yourself

    Good luck with your project

    Momo recover

Thanks for the help guys...I do like to bring things back to life. This steering wheel deserves to be recovered. I just saw cornpanzers thread on recovering his steering wheel, and that motivated me to call around for a leather source. A local shop will sell me the leather, so tonight I'll peel the old cover off and use it as a template.
