What happened to the 996 engine this pump came from? Did it grenade?
I would have the rotors magnafluxed to verify there are no cracks. Inexpensive testing material consisting of aerosol spray and developer can also be used.
The end clearance around the end of the rotors is critical. When assembled, does the pump turn freely? Some measure the end clearance with plastigauge to ensure it is very tight. SOP for modifying the pumps is to reduce this end clearance by surfacing the housing mating surface. I suppose you could do this with a piece of sandpaper on a surface plate (be careful if you use your granite countertop). That would move the rotor closer to the housing. The trouble with THAT is you don't want it too close, hence the plastigauge to measure the clearance when everything is clamped together.
Remember that the bolts are only M6, it doesn't take a lot of torque to hold the pump together.
You will have to clearance whatever case you use the pump in of course.
Nice photos!

Pictures don't tell the story. Put it together and spin the pump. If it spins free it's most likely fine; if it binds or is notchy ... RUN!!!
PS: Can't vouch for its usability in a 7R case.

Thanks Guys
The story with this one is the owners mechanics were looking for a noise in the bottom end of the motor and it turned out to be one of the chains was stretched and making a thumping noise near the countershaft. 'The pump actually only has about 100 miles on it. Our customer requested that we replace EVERYTHING'
Anyone else care to comment about fitting into a 7R case. I'm sure some case mods would be required but is it possible?
Cheers, Cam

I am 99% positive one of my 2.7 Carreras has a GT3 oil pump.
I can't check for another week as my mechanic is skiing overseas.
Does that tell you something.
