Here's what I picked up on Saturday. It took 365 days to the day from reservation to delivery. Rear engine, rear wheel drive and bottom hinged pedals just like my other car.

Mike, that is too fun. Love the 3 bolt wheels. How does it handle? Is it a tall as it looks?
Thanks, guys. The car handles very well with nicely weighted steering and surprisingly little lean in corners. It's a blast around town, but darty on the highway as I'm sure you can imagine with the reallyshort wheelbase.
The car is five feet tall, five feet wide and 8.8 feet long, but you don't notice the dimensions when driving. It just feels like any other small car until you turn around to look out the back window and it's right there!
After driving my 911 22k miles in the last year and a half, it was time to get something to just drive to work and back to Dallas that gets great gas mileage. I think I made the right choice...
I drove a friend's car Sat. It had the auto-manual tranny ... strange shifting. Do they all have this gearbox?
Yes, it's the only gearbox available. It is strange at first, but doesn't take very long to get used to it. You have to anticipate the shifts and lift slightly and it works very well.Originally Posted by CurtEgerer

I still shake my head that they brought that car to the US with a gasoline engine. I guess we're luckier in Canuckistan to get the diesel.

You can have the diesel at over $4.50 a gallon here in the US.
My father just got one of those also for his commute.

I don't know yet as I'm still working on getting through the first tank. So far, I'm at 148 miles with 2/3 of a tank to go.Originally Posted by EARLY911ZOO
