    new to the crowd here

    just found a new baby

a 68 911S that I beleive to be a SWT ( has hard window now but recess in the inside of the targa bar)

    #11850275
I ordered the COA but engine# is for a 68S (408...) so looking good

irish green original color, funny how that green is back ( my first restoration was a 914-4 with the same color code)

has been repainted twice but other wise rust free, was park because the chain tensioner is failing ( not completely ) so the engine is not harmed ( just a rattle in the box)

I plan on a complete strip down to bare metal inside and out and reassemble

it a german car, the guage are in german , the targa latch label is german , the owner manual is in german

was told that the car was originally owned by a german olympic ahtlete (georg thoma) I have a friend who live in germany who is tracking him down , if i can confirm it would be so great unless that kind of information already exist

What is the brand of the thermometer? There was an orange 68 S Targa recently sold out of Arizona that had an external temp thermometer that board members viewed as original.

I also believe that wood wheel was a no cost option, nicht?

Your extra gauge on the left side of the dash is for an outside thermometer. Read about it and your wood steering wheel here:

That looks like an Ontario licence plate blocked out. What part of Ontario? Welcome to the S pile.

thanks for the great welcome, there not that many good places to be

I get the car delivered wednesday so sorry if i dont have all the answer

the thermometer brand looks like M___M___ (motomele) or some other spelling

interesting to read about the wheel, the thermometer looks to be original but hopefully the COA will tell

my real name is Yves and I live near Brockville, ontario

the first vehicule I restored was a 75 toyota FJ45 ( was more a effort to just put it ack on the road
next was a 72 914-4 done to 80% concours ( made some custom touch)

now a 70 914-6 done to 100% concours, every scew , bracket, bits a piece was either replated or powder coated, painted inside, out and under, in the final stage of assembly

the next one is the new baby 68S SWT

one more question, anyone seen that seat belt

once I actually have the car I am sure I will have more question and I will be glad to share my find ( picture or garage time if you want to come over)
