    radio removal

Can someone point me in the correct direction for removing the factory radio in a 69. My search results here didn't turn anything up.

Seems like a special tool may be needed.

Take the two rotary knobs (on/off/volume & tuning) off - they just pull off - & behind them you will see two very thin hexagonal nuts (I think they're 13mm or 14mm - maybe 15mm). Undo these & the radio should be removeable (forwards towards the front of the car) from under the dash. Unplug the aerial & disconnect the live & earth leads.

Sometimes there is an additional bracket connected to the rear of the radio - have a look under the dash to check & remove as necessary.

Joe, sometimes it's necessary to use a small straight screwdriver to push back the clips that hold the radio in the dash opening, too.

Thanx for the help. I spent some time on it yesterday and got it out. I was most worried about how the dash plate was removed cuz I didn't want to mutilate it.

Came out fairly easy after that. Is there much of a market for these Blaupunkt Frankfurts?

Those Blaupunkts sell for silly money, considering how unsophisticated they are. It's all about the look. I would hold on to yours, Joe, in case you want to return to the original look.
