Thread: WTB Blaupunkt Frankfurt (US band) 1973

    Arrow WTB Blaupunkt Frankfurt (US band) 1973

    Anyone have, or know where I can find, a Blaupunkt Frankfurt US band radio that is correct for 1973?

    It has to be in excellent cosmetic condition, and preferably working... but non-working may be okay as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike;

    Ebay seems to be the best avenue if you are willing and know what you are looking for. This is a recent sale at a reasonable price.

    Thanks, David. That's just what I am looking for.... I think. I'm trying to find out if the "stereo" variant was available in '73 or just the mono. I checked the thread on early '70's option codes. Apparently there were two different option codes for the Blaupunkt Frankfurt - M453 and M462 - but neither is designated as stereo vs. mono. The COA indicates my car should have 453.

    Does anyone know whether 1973 option code M453 should be the mono or stereo Blaupunkt Frankfurt US band?

    Are there any other designations on the radio that I should look for to ensure it is correct for 1973?

    Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Here is another very nice recent sale. I'm no radio guru but I believe the label on the left is the model #, my '71 mono US Frankfurt # is 7 639 670. The label on the right is the serial # with the first # after the letter in this case an F is the year designation, O= 1970.

    David,

    I did a search for option codes and found the M462 code as Carrera script for 1973. So my guess is that there was only one US band Frankfurt in 73 - stereo or mono, I do not know.
