What to put on inner floorpan?

I have just put a complete new floorpan on my 70 911t. It is correctly seam sealed etc but Im not sure what to do next. I have searched on pelican and here and am thinking that I dont want to put the stick on noise pads due to the possibility of rust and trapped moisture later on. The car is getting a total restoration but it will be driven. It was suggested to me to use Wurth SKS on the inside of the pans (just like I an doing to the complete underside) but I would like a few more opinions and ideas. Although it will mostly be covered with carpet I would like it to look close to stock. Thanks in advance! Mark

Take a look at Ed Mayo's post below in the thread titled "color below rockers, black or body".

I'm not sure if it applies to a 1970 model, but it may be of some assistance.

I believe, based on converstions with others who have restored cars having factory original carpet, that the carpets were placed without padding. Presumably on the bituminous mats which usually had some body color overspray.

I'm not an expert, but there seems to be a wealth of detail in that thread.

"Pad stuff," I'm not sure what you mean (if, per chance, you are referring to material like on my '67 which is almost a tarred felt, no. it is nothing like that). The floors appear to be covered with a light "body shutz" as used, I think (not sure!) on the bottom side of the pan but, perhaps?, not as thick. However, I found the following on the link referred to earlier in this post.

the interior floor wasn't covered in undercoating, but in another type of rubber coating ("Kautschuk"), shown in the third picture in my post. Then noise-insulating mats ("anti-dröhn") were put in place, then body color, then black in the places you describe

I went back out the garage and probed and believe the above to be correct. So, you may use my photo as a reference for how it should end up looking.

My 67S has some kind of horsehair matting underneath the carpets. Part
of the option package that it has meant that it should have had the noise
suppression deleted but I guess they were drinking on the line that day,
    again.

Auto Atlanta was advertising something that was a replacement for the original.

The original stuff soaks up brake fluid very nicely.

The SWB and I think '69 cars had the stuff that appears to be tar infused horsehair, it does soak up water really well. Your '70 had all tar matting that form fits and adheres to the contours of the floor. I've bought something very similar to the original at a local car stereo shop. None of the aftermarket alternatives have the little round imprinted pattern you see in Allen's picture.
