    Windshield Rubber for '67 SWT

A friend of mine is down to the short strokes in the top of the world restoration of a '67 Soft Window Targa and there's a part he can't find. It's the windshield frame weather-strip p/n 901 565 099 40.

There are evidently some repros out there but they are a bear to modify and the first choice is an original. Anyone know of a source?

    Thanks,
    JohnA

That's actually a shop called German Master Tech here in Bend, Oregon. I started it as a vintage Porsche restoration business several years ago as a kind of hobby/business. When it became more of a business than a hobby I "sold" it to Tim Morris. Tim runs it to this day and has made a great success of it. He and his crew do world class work.

Here's a shot of his shop from another angle showing a 67S Coupe being restored and a 73 coupe (Tim's ride) along with a few other goodies. Service bays are in adjacent space.

Note: I don't have any commercial interest in Tim's enterprise, I'm just an avid supporter.

    Cheers,

    Windshield Rubber for '67 SWT

John, I'm sure you know of Dan Petchel at Cars Inc in New Jersey. He has remade the early LWB rubber, although I think the SWB is slightly different he might be a good place to try.

    window frame seal

Dan has done a copy of the original frame seals. I don't think there is any difference on 73 and older cars

The shop German Master Tech and Targa rubber

I must say, the shop in the pictures is a well run organization, what John started as a hobby Tim has really kept John Audettes passion for doing it right going. Johns many interests and retirement ( okay, his playtime) have been left with Tim, who has added a young working mechanics expertise and drive to make it a top notch shop, run by a stand-up individual.

Tim has established the shop and is a stand up guy I have sold him several of my Early S cars for his customers and his restoration work is wonderful.

As I see the Canary yellow 67S SWT I sold I am a sad, I did not keep her ( okay I kept it's older less ADHD brother a 68L SWT in canary yellow so I can quit kicking myself)

Dan is out of the original seals at this time, I am looking for one or more as well. the seals are from the 67-69 year and are the front targa seal. 70-89 are different

    Dan is a great help

If anyone has one or access to one It would be appreciated. I need one as well for the 68 and some of my other babies
