I know what you mean about the welding, i would practice for an hour on a piece of scrap the type of weld i was going to do next, to make sure i had the welder dialed in, and was getting the correct penetration.
Now i just seem to fire it up and make small adjustments as i go.
I'm not that far behind you, i've just got patches in each fender and then the front pan and i'm done with my rust issues.
What color is she going to be?
Mine is a special order blue from 69 Ultra Blau, i was going to change it but it's grown on me, and i haven't seen any other 911 in the color, should look nice with all the bright bits.
At least it will look better then the 80's resale red that was on it.
Tony
olive
mine was also a red repaint x2.
first job was quality, they even stamped the paint tag.
second time was sh!t cracked and lifted.
i'm going on vacation, bummer, its taking me away from the project.
whoa i gotta keep it in perspective.![]()
post some pics of your work.

Nice job.
What years are interchangeable to be accurate?
That way I can call the junkyards and know what years to look for.
Would 65-73 be the same?
74-89?
for lwb anything up to 84 would fit.
there are subtle differences in the pressings between years.
as far as i could tell 69-71, 72-73, 74-84 are different.
i think the targas are not interchangable with coupes,
not sure about the swb
not 100% on this.
