I have details, and photos, of almost all 911's that raced at Le Mans up until 1973 (and most other Porsche entries as well). Happy to post later now you have started this thread.

here is the 1966 entry that has already been posted by Raj
car #35
14th. "Franc" / F Jean Kerguen / F
Porsche 911S entered by "J. Franc" 1. GT2.0
it shows how versatile the cars were, or maybe the lack of specialty back then, as this was the Vic Elford / Stone 3rd place car at the Tour de Corse rally in 1966 and the Hans Walter and Werner Lier 4th placed car at the 1966 Monte Carlo rallye

Not sure which team this represents, but Hugh can probably identify. This shot is from a poster printed by Paul Oxman Enterprises that I had squirreled away and just found. It is from the 72 LeMans event.

........ And, was the only 2.5 to run Webers instead of injection that year, and was 42lbs heavier then the lightest 911 at weigh-in.......That number 45 car is from the raymond touroul team-number45-DNF-Driver Lee Banner/Bardini A4 class.

Chuck:
Where do you find that kind of info...weight?
I wonder if this was a customer modified 911S and therefore did not have some of the lightening features on the factory prepared STs. Do you know the VIN?

That's an easy one Gib,
The info comes from "PORSCHES at LE MANS" by Dominique Pascal
ISBN 0-85429-457-0
The book lists pics and stats of EVERY Porsche at the race from 1951 to 1984.
Under the photos of each Porsche participant is is an explanation of race position, drivers, some comments... and chassis No. and engine No. mostly on the prototypes and only up to about '69.
The categories on the stats are:
Race No., Type Model, Engine position, No. of cylinders, Capacity in cc, Bore and stroke in mm., Valve operation, Cooling, Induction, Brakes, Trans, Body material, and Weight in kg (lb)
The book was written in a French and English editions.
A must for the Porsche library...
Hope this helps bud...
Cheers

Great call on the book - I have just picked up a copy of a first edition english language one on ebay. I think it was published in 1984.
On the 45 car Raj and Chuck have published the details.
here are a couple of more pics

Looking more closely at some of the features, this ST does appear to be a 'kit' ST. Cibie biodes, hood tie-down placement, white headliner, dry break (possible) fuel filler, brake cooling ducts. What is the leather looking strap on the hood for? Also, the center light on the bumper...identifier during darkness?
