i am the proud owner of a 68S targa that has funny options, its number 118500275, it is a german car ( i even have the german owner manual) even has the german guages

the funny option are 100L tank as well as limited slip dif

the color is irish green , apparently the original owner would have been olympic german skier , Georg Thoma, i now he is still alive but any attenpt to contact him or get a phone number has failed

the car was apparently given to him for winning a medal etc..

any idea, picture , lead or anthting usefull would be really apreciated

    Usoc

You might try the US Olympic Training center in Colorado Springs and get the counterpart in Germany from them.

I might also google (Or even better, via the German Yahoo site) his brother Franz Thoma and/ or nephew Dieter Thoma (Also a world champion in ski jump): Both run companies, including lifts in Hinterzarten (Which includes the Georg Thoma lift). The web sites have corporate contact information.

A friendly email or a call might help to be put in touch with the family. Neat lineage if true.

We need to find out if this was the car he used, way cool!
The escape was filmed but never published, would love to see that clip....

Let me know if you need some assistance. Not sure if I can help, but the ski jumping community is close knit and everyone here knows all the Germans etc. BTW: The current world record holder lives a few clicks from me, but I have never had any reason to start a conversation when I bump into him, now I have

This is an amazing picture! Men (and women) were amazing back then..... no helmet, not even any goggles.... flying through the air like some crazed Peregrine Falcon, mouth agape. Truly inspiring.
