Bay area folks,
Please help ID the owner of this nice Coupe that was at EASY this past Saturday. Note those nice Solex carburetors! Thanks.

Walt Sikes.
Jim said it came from EASY and it was a '65. I thought all '65s had the flat panels for the engine bay stickers unless the later models didn't.

Great car! Inspiration to me to finish '065!

Wow I like that one, slight sleeper. Looks like widened steelies, and I like the rally lights too.
If someone would let me know how I could contact Mr. Sikes, it would be appreciated..will be discrete. He's registered on the 356 board but, apparently, is contact info. there is obsolete. Thanks.

I agree Mike, those steelies are slightly wider than 4-1/2"s. Subtle, though.
It's hard to tell a 65 from a 66 without actually being there to check date codes-- tachometer, solexes, both appeared in both years. Standing there you could tell in about 30 seconds without looking at the VIN. . . I can think of seven places to find a date code without touching the car, but it would take a flashlight. . .![]()

The pictures don't even come close to showing how clean and well done this car was. Considering that it probably came out of the deepest darkest recesses of the EASY "archive" one can really appreciate how much work it took to get to the present condition. :-)
I especially loved the funky fuel delivery system enabling the float-less Solex carbs.

Did you get any shots of the 2 aux fuel pumps mounted to the left chain housing? You can just see some of the hard lines coming off of them going over the fan housing with the plug wires. This arrangement was apparently standard, but I haven't seen it before. Very cool!
