Although a few bumps from the African terrain, not too bad.

Very nice pan.First time ever to see the detail of the roll bar bottom before it is bolted to the roll bar plates! Nice welds compared to many ive seen on the plates to the body...Cliff

    Paint Code Tag

When I started this thread about 18 months ago one of the first pictures I posted was of the paint tag which although in place had suffered a little in the hands of previous owners.

I finally managed to spend a little time on it trying to unearth as much as I could, whilst not perfect all the information is now visible so probably the correct point to stop digging! From the code it can be seen that the paint was Leasonal.

On the Kardex the paint code is quoted as "blutorange 6809 B", Dave said that he thought the "B" might indicate the interior colour i.e. black which would be correct, can anyone confirm this is what the "B" stands for?

Yes I have seen this, unfortunately this and one from a slightly different angle are the only pictures I have found of a "Gordon C.R Crow" sponsored car.

Well, the German word for 'black' is schwartz . . . so unless Porsche went to English nomenclature on any of their colors . . .

Rick, of course you are correct, I would blame excess alcohol for the New Year celebrations.....but I hadn't started when I posted!

I have now worked out that the Polsterung section on the Kardex is Upholstery, this says "Kunstl.schwarz" which is obviously the black you highlighted and is correct for the car, can't seem to find a translation for "Kunstl." , might it be an abbreviation given the "." after the word which may make it "Kunstlich" - "artificial" or maybe "Kunst-faser" - "synthetic fibre" depending how abbreviations are shown in German?

This still leaves the question of the "B" after the 6809 paint code on the Kardex; I am sure I saw a recent thread that had a copy of a Kardex posted that also showed this "B" but unable to find it at the moment!
