    As Long as We're Talking Targa . . .

    . . . . and those kinda dollars, here's one on Pelican . . .

    Green on black
    VIN = 119310176
    Eng# = ?
    Trans# = ?
    Mileage = ?

    . . . The Porsche 1969 Soft Window Targa is a very rare classic car. The factory states that there were only 12 of these cars produced Worldwide. There have been sightings of later versions of the SWT, but these car were by “special order” only. Of the 12 1969 SWT’s produced, we only know of (5) 1969 911”S” SWT’s. We know there is 1 Red, 1 Black, 1 white , 1 silver, and lastly …1 Irish Green. These “S” Soft Windows could be THE most collectable of production Porsches.

    The VIN # of the car I am offering for sale here is 119310176. The Cardex (sic) shows that this car was delivered to the USA on November 22, 1968. The destination was to Porsche of America Corp. It was delivered with color code 6806 ( Irish Green ), interior leather black, Becker Europa radio, colored door windows and windscreen, steering wheel with elevated hub, and leather seats

    This car was purchased originally in the East Coast then brought out to California. Looks as if I am the 2nd owner of this car. The paint is in excellent condition, but NOT original. The interior has been redone with new carpet . The seats were redone at some point by the previous owner. The drive-train is in very good mechanical working condition. The engine & MFI have been rebuilt approx. 30,000 miles ago. Since that time the car has seen very selected pleasure miles. The targa top is in very good condition, as is the rear soft window boot. The car has the factory booklet and toolkit and jack. Also, it has the rear window tonneau that covers the plastic window when down. The stereo was replaced some time ago with an AM_FM stereo .

    The car has been lowered and aligned by West end alignment here in CA. The tyres and Fuchs are in very good condition as are the brakes and rotors.

    Soft window targas have been discovered by early 911 cognoscenti and become the darling of this emerging group of highly involved 911 collectors. One fact remains with this car, and that there is NOT another one ( 1969 911S SWT ) in the world. When you factor in the other reality that there are only 5 “esses”, makes this car very collectable and special.

    So, $150K, non matching #'s, incorrect sport seats, incorrect side deco, incorrect front rubber deco, and incorrect muffler tip (oh the horror!)....
