Agreed... $1,250,000 while several others so far have been well short. The cult prevails.

3 bidders, 2 in the room and a telephone bidder overseas. It went to the telephone bidder apparently so its heading to Europe ( factory museum, Prototyp Museum ??).

With the buyer's premium that's $ 1.375.000. I never thought it would fetch such a price.....A historic moment for the 911, a huge record price for a classic 911.....

Clearly it was the Slate Gray color that did it...

It was interesting to watch in persone, maybe the 911S will get more attention with the auction crowd. A woman was one of the bidders.

I just admire how Frank did it, from purchase to sale and everything in between.

    Frank well done.

Andrea apparently there were 3 bidders, IMHO the price is the market price (of at least last night ;-) ).

Indeed, that money will buy you a 904, Spyder or 3 nice 356 Carrera's. Don't even have to think about that one. I can see how the car would make an attractive piece for a museum etc. (lure in more visitors = more cash) In my eyes it is just a 911s nothing more, nothing less. However that is just in my eyes.
