Great perspective Frank... "1.25 MM in five years" I'm definitely out of my league here.

Perspective...... What does Elvis's estate bring in on an annual basis? $44,000,000 and he was number four on the dead artist list....... This sale hardly represents an epic moment in auction history. It is interesting, yes.

    Question

A question to the American registry members:

I own and drive a really nice signal-yellow 1973 Carrera RS (#813) that once belonged to Nicolas Cage. Over here in Switzerland/Europe Cage is very well known but there's no real "Nicolas Cage star cult". I know Cage doesn't play in the same league as Steve McQueen but he's done (apart from a few recent ones...) some cool movies too. Do you think it would be wise to put it on sale in the USA, especially after this amazing auction result? I like this Carrera RS very much, it runs and drives just excellent but as most of us, I'm always looking for the next classic Porsche, the next challenge.

    Thanks for your appreciated opinions,
    Mike

Yes Mike, wait to see what Nick Cage's son does next. When that spoiled goofball breaks free from his straightjacket he's liable to do something reeeeally craaaazy.

The car will have a minor amount of cache attributed being owned by Nic Cage. The car is worth $350,000 +/- 50,000 depending on condition........ would it turn it into a $500,000 doubtful.....

IIRC Nick Cage's Espada languished for months unsold... always wondered if he modified the car as research for Leaving Las Vegas.

This is not the 1st Espada I have heard of fitted with a Bar. I was offered a white example from some Hollywood type. But I think the bar was in the back for the passengers. This could be it referanced here (or maybe it was yet another):

"The fact is, the Espada predated the exotic car VIP trend by over 40 years. A Bertone-prepared VIP Espada appeared at the 1973 Paris Auto Show replete with transmission tunnel-mounted television set for the rear passengers, state-of-the-art compact cassette recorder and, of course, a fully stocked bar with glasses available at right or left arm's reach. The Espada is dead. Long live the Espada!".
