Candyce, Great color, great car, great story. Sepia looks great with a nice shine. Really shows off the depth of color with the single stage paint. Enjoy.

Candyce,
Great to meet you at Road America this past year;
Candyce, great to see you diving into this early 911 world and learning so much. These are very special cars and the fact that you are the original owner with so much documentation is priceless. Enjoy the ride - here and the car. There are a great many people here that will enjoy your story and help you along the way.
Saw the car at St. Charles and again at RA. Was going to introduce myself at RA, but you were mobbed by people. I had the light yellow 1975 911S in the concours there.

What a great photo! It has just been an extraordinary ride! I have met so many people who have been incredibly kind. I show my gratitude by sharing these little stories. (It must be the teacher in me.)
Last July at Elkhart Lake, I was prepping the car in a parking lot on Friday morning by myself. This elderly gentleman came by and we talked about Road America, Porsches, and Elkhart Lake. On Saturday morning, he returned with his wife and we chatted again. The evening brought an outstanding concours with spectacular cars and enthusiastic people everywhere. With a map in his hand, the gentleman found me parked on the street. He handed me the map and said, "The town is very crowded. You will not find any parking by your room. Please park in my garage."

Rick, AKA Long Ranger ...
It was a stretch for me to purchase the four Michelin XWX tires. I chose the best of the old tires to use as a spare. During judging at the Savannah Concours, I removed the spare tire from the trunk and one of the judges told me, he thought it looked like an original tire.
Fortunately, there is a thread on the 911S Registry about the markings on Michelin tires. Trying to identify the manufacturing dates on the tires will be my next research project. I think I have two of the original tires and three from the second set of XWX tires.. I don't know what I will do with them.
There was always a stack of tires in the garage. When I cleaned out the garage, all the old tires went to the recycling center. I now know Jim had kept the original tires and I threw three of them out. Duh?! Lesson learned! At least I didn't recycle the Abarth muffler.

Yeah . . . I had a pre-historic XZX for a spare when I decided to put new tires on my car. (I went with the Vredesteins, five --- for the same reason most people get four Michelins. )
Spare wheel was a bit sketchy, tire well-used, good enough for display/conversation/'look-at-that' factor, maybe. I'd considered getting another wheel, making-up a new spare --- nasty Michelin was more jerky than rubber, definitely not coming off without a very serious fight (and not in one piece).
But . . . was heading cross-country, needed something reliable now, so --- took some pictures, then . . . cut the XZX off (tube was still in it)
Been driving on the Vreds ever since, keep 'em 'till they wear, then? . . . maybe fit a set of chubbies (XZXs). Five.
Any manufacturing date.
Rick

Motor Oil and 1973S?
When the motor oil was changed in April 2010, I followed the recommendations in the owner's manual. Now, it is time to change it again and I have learned that there are better motor oils available. Someone recommended Brad Penn 20W50. Someone else recommended Swepco 306/SW40. (Not sure I have the number correct.) Which one is better or more appropriate?

I have never used Swepco but I do use Brad Penn 20/50 on my 73S and I have never had a problem.

Another Brad Penn user here. There are others but you have to pay close attention to the exact variety of Valvoline VR-1 and I think Redline is the other? Brad Penn is a good value, though.
