Believe the 70 red T was sold to someone in Belgium. The last two T's at MCMS have gone to Europeans. The white 73.5 he sold last month was probably undersold at $48.5. I just missed it.

    1973T Targa MFI silver - $42,500

not mine - http://www.californiaclassix.com/garage/c696.html (and listed on ebay right now)

    1973TMFIsilver.jpg

Special order Silbermetallik over black. 53K actual, documented miles, one owner from 1979 until 2010. Matching numbers. Options include factory A/C (blows cold!), "S" trim and front spoiler, CIBIE headlights, FUCHS wheels, and 5-speed transmission.
This rare Targa - less than 800 of the model were manufactured - runs and drives as good as it looks, just like you'd expect from a low-mileage 911. Early 911s - especially low-mileage examples wearing a desirable factory color - are true heirloom cars; we might not be able to find another gem like this!

    VIN 9113110406
    engine 6131066

    Asking $42.5k

I about choked when I saw this listing on eBay today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-...item336e7f0987

This car (9111110809) was for sale in Sarasota Florida for $9k a couple of weeks ago, so I went to have a look at it while I was down there looking at another early 911. This thing was beyond rusty (all edges of the pan, boxes, battery boxes, etc), and loaded with bondo. The ad says "It was painted three years ago, looks pretty fresh but it was not a very expensive paint job"... that's the understatement of the year- this car looks like it was painted with a roller in a dust storm. The ad mentions "The hood does not close as the latch is misaligned due to a minor accident in the past"... but neglects to mention the fact that the hood is full of bondo and lead to make it heavy enough to stay down since the latch isn't there anymore. It also leaks like a siv and while it did eventually start, it smoked like no tomorrow and barely ran 3 minutes untill it stalled and wouldn't re-start. The owner also told me he re-wired the car himself, so not sure how much that had to do with the running problems (and noticeable miss) Before anyone sends this guy a dime, make sure you see the car yourself and have a PPI done so you know exactly what you're buying.

    4024178.jpg

not mine -posted on Samba @ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifie...php?id=1206360

Vin# 9112110496 with a 71 911 T 2.2 motor with engine number 6117126..original engine # was 6121225..original color 225 emerald green (viper)..it has aprox. 98,391 miles on the car..comes with the owners hand book case that has only the dealer location book and original service book....the car was purchased from the last owner who had the car for 20 years and only drove it about 1000 miles during that time,, ,it also has an older mostly exterior repaint that still has an remarkable shine, but if you look closely there are some imperfections in the paint but a very presentable finish... looks like partial of the front trunk still in original paint,...looks like door hinge posts and engine compartment is still in its original paint ...when I got the car last march it was running rough so I just spent 5000.00 in sorting out the issues....some of the things that were done....rebiult weber carbs.,,replaced tune up parts as required, timing, brakes rebiult frt calipers, all flex lines, front pads and machined rotors replace brake fluid, temp sensor, valve covers, set the valves,,,,,main seal,,trani shaft seal, trani fork seal, trani fluid, rebiuld cdi box.fuel pump...etc etc.there are still a few minor oil leaks....the tach is not working and will be sent out for rebiulding...please look at the photos carfully as they also act as the main part of the discription.minor surface rust spot under front passender carpet and raer carpet,no holes, one paint bubble on drivers door lower front..buyer to arrange and pay for any shipping charges duties and all taxes....thanks for looking..
