Hi Brian,
I got to see the car and meet the original owner when he delivered it to Ed for the PPI. I concur with your assessment of both the owner and the car, both class. I am sure Ed talked you up about the Hill Country Rally and hope you can make it.
Best of everything with your new car.

That's good the hear that the seller stuck with you on the original deal. When I was 16 years old I bought my first car which was a 74 2.0L 914 for $2500.00 dollars. It was all my own money from working nights at a burger joint in the mall. I put down a deposit to pick the car up the next day. The seller called me later that night and said he had accepted another offer for more money. My mom got on the phone and gave the guy the biggest guilt trip for pulling out of the deal with me and he decided to sell the car to me after all. I'll never forget that. Enjoy your new old Porsche!

Congratulations on a great find. Was the previous owner a serial killer? What's up with the plastic in the back seat?

The day he bought the car, he had a plywood board cut and carpeted and placed over the two folded rear seats. Then he covered that with plastic and it's been that way for 42 years. It was for his dog. Gotta like a man who loves his dog that much. My boys, however, would probably prefer the seats.
The driving lights on the rear are controlled by a momentary toggle under the dash - those are for blinding someone behind you if they didn't drop their high beams after he overtook them. A pet peeve of his. Boy this car has got to have a bunch of stories...

Brian - big congratulations to you. She is a beauty. I'm glad it all worked out in the end and I'm not at all surprise that there were others after the car from out of the blue. The only comment I have is the front hood badge - it should have orange bars instead of ruby color bars. It's a later year badge that was perhaps replaced when the car was resprayed.
Again congrats!!!
Hi, Brian . . .
Congratulations on getting your Porsche. Sounds like a lucky car. I enjoyed reading about your purchase . . . everybody/everything --- sight-un-seen. Good karma.
Keep the stories and the pictures coming . . . . and the road trips!
Rick
Well done sir. Very nice car. Please keep the lights on the back - they are unique additions and have a great intimdation factor.
