    That is a very odd extra set of numbers. The first character may be a 7, but it is not anything like the last character which is a 7.

    I remember from the old days working at the dealerships, when we rebuilt an engine we stamped our own code/logo in the casing so we could track who did the rebuild if it would ever come back for warranty or service.... just my two cents.

    I'd bet that 960661 is 6553 not 6353 since
    960624 = 6497
    960667 = 6559

    Mark Potvin reports:
    Serial number 3280623
    1968 Aluminum case
    901/14 Internal designation
    case stamped 12063

    helping to refine the end of the aluminum cases a bit more.
