What Wheels Factory Fitted to my Car?

    Hello,

could someone tell me how I distinguish what wheels my Car was fitted from the Factory,
my COA does not mention anything about wheels - only tyres (15") Code: 9107 P 165-15

need to check the dates on my wheels but think they are later Fuch Flat type (70)

my car is a very early 69t LWB Sporto, 02nd SEPT 68 Manufacture.

    Thanks Lee

    Hi Lee.
Standard delivery wheels for a 69 T would have been 5.5Jx15 steelies.

    I agree.
However with the problems of the COAs. I would look for other options like does it have wide trim or "S" guages ? If not the for sure steel 5.5s.
Oddly enough I have seen some 5.5 Fuchs on early 69 912s and early 69 911Ts. (they would also use the 165 tires.)
BTW the later "flat" Fuchs start showing up around 3/71 on cars with dtd 1/71>...A 70 dtd Fuchs would be the early "deep" type.

I believe that the T gauges differed in that the gas combo and oil combo gauges only have one needle indicator (each) with a big warning light in the window where the oil level and oil pressure indicators would be.
It's possible that these could have been switched out over the years. I know I switched them out in an old car I had.
I also think the 'S' package came with S brakes (please feel free to correct me here)

The COA can be pretty vague and often incorrect. If your car had the S appearance group, this would also appear as a line in the options list (provided they got the document right).

The "S" package did not include "S" brakes.
It was purely trim stuff and gauges for oil level and oil pressure. The pressure gauge is often added to cars without one but the oil level gauge requires that the oil tank be replaced with a tank with a sending unit and wasn't done near as often.

    Regards

    Jim

    thanks Jim,

My Car has the oil pressure / oil level gauge and think my mechanic said the dates are correct, my car also have S type Calipers,
I'm not sure about trim as the front bumper shows standard T moulding but rear bumpers show S type moulding.

    thanks Lee

Sounds like you need to dig deeper. The front trim may have been changed. Many were.
S rockers? Std,std 69Ts frequently came with solid rotors. Are your front calipers Aluminum S style? What type steering wheel? Plastic or foam padded vinyl. Etc,etc

    Hello Harvey.....

yes aluminium front calipers for sure, steering wheel is plastic with no covering of any type,
the rotors were solid when I removed but replaced them with vented type for more inproved breaking.
the rocker covers are missing with no holes in the body but could have been filled at some point.

    cheers Lee
