Looks like the cleaner ate into the anodizing. Porsche recommended petroleum jelly as a spread on and buff off coating after cleaning from new. It does make the loss of anodizing less noticeable as it evens the surface. It's always made my fuchs look better!
Thats a lesson!
I'd try some cleaner wax, then spray on one of those final finishes before applying some vaseline. It looks like the whell had been polished previously and did not have the original anodizing, is this so?

They look polished to me. See how your caps look, that is the anodize finish, and your petals look to be polished.
Get a little metal cleaner/polish paste, and test it on a spot, if it turns black, no anodize.
Only wash polished with a soft Mit/Sponge, with good quality car wash.
If so polish the petals, then give them a good wax, it will help stop any water stains.

Interesting lug nuts. Are those steel lug nuts with a chrome cap?

The cleaner is for all kinds of aluminum wheels.....not anodized or polished...

They appear to be anodized. My guess is that you cleaned them in the sun and residual cleaner dried on the wheels.
Make sure that they are nice and cool, wash them with soap and water in a shady spot and then try the petroleum jelly.

Thanks to all, they were cleaned in the shade of a washbox, not the sun. I tried to clean them with water and a sponge, no result. They prob need to be restored to original (or RSR) finish.
There was no warning about older style wheels or anodized wheels on the cleaner. Should i contact the manufactorer?

The PH in the cleaner was to high, you have to be carefull with anodized wheels. Many cleaners will not work. Soap and water works best. Also, there is a cleaner called P21 that has the right PH. Once the damage is done, the wheels have to be refinished. Vasaline will work good for a couple hours.
