    Durant mirror drilling template

I've been told there is a drilling template available for proper location of the RH door mirror. Are any of you aware of such a template, and if so, where can I find one?

I've got a new RH door and a new paint job and I want to make sure I get it right. I wish I had noticed the lack of holes before I had the car painted!

    Thanks

If there IS a template, please post it! The RH mirror location isn't the same as the LH door, it's positioned for best visibility which is
different for tall or short drivers. It will be further back and possibly higher on the door as shown below. Cover the area with blue tape
and with a helper, sit in your normal position and have them move it around, marking the best spot with a Sharpie.

Measuring twice before drilling isn't enough... check it until you're happy. I was very nervous about drilling freshly painted metal and taped
the mirror in a bunch of spots before commiting the deed. With their larger vis area, flag mirrors are a little easier to place.

For those mounting an earlier non electric mirror, the mounting location is quite different from the driver's side. To be able to see anything out of a passenger side mirror, first measure the drivers side mirror holes (or mirror location) in relation to the door gap and vent window.

The passenger side needs to be 1 & 3/8" higher and 4 & 1/2" farther back.

That is for an electric mirror which is quite a bit larger in area than the durant.

I'm thinking that when the driver views the right outside mirror, he is actually looking thru the door glass to the mirror. Also ,consider clearance for the wing window to pivot open. I really don't believe there is a schematic for this job that is totally correct for every individual that will sit in the driver's seat. Cliff
PS when I get to mounting my Talbots, the one on the right will go on the fender so I may view it thru the front window!!

you could just drill extra holes like someone did on my car, I suppose that makes it adjustable!
