    Restoration of LWB Horn Grills

I'm chasing advice on LWB horn grills... If I was after SWB I'd just buy a pair of Soterik's

I have a nice "driver" pair on my car, but new paint shows them up - restoration of pot metal can be expensive as often the pitting and corrosion is quite deep. I know through research that the originals are NLA, aftermarket versions have an inferior fit, but that the black plastic versions are a good fit.

My '69 takes the chrome versions, so at this stage I'm guessing that my only options are the restoration of the originals or chrome plating of a plastic set (there are specialist plastic chromers and the results I've seen are quite good).

What are most of you guys doing and have you been happy with the results? Given that the grills are relatives small and light, I'd consider sending them to the States if someone has a 'go to guy'.

Hi John, I am not sure if our timings will suit but we are testing making the LWB versions at the moment. We stock Eric's SWB version and am not looking to make those but will make new LWB versions as the ones from Porsche and after market suppliers are IMO pretty poor.

I will update once we have the first batch

    Hi Alan

I'm happy to wait for something worthwhile! We have the Australian Rennsport Reunion happening in May - any chance they'll be available by then?

    Cheers

Hi Ravi, the headliner is progressing, as are the carpet sets, everthing always takes longer than expected. But the full ally doors are finished.... they are great. Quick pic
