My 300705 car has 6 metal "loops" strategically welded to the inner wheel wells of the trunk. I suspect they were added as luggage tie down points but would love to see photos of other '65 trunks.
Photos forthcoming.
Thanks.

Frank
My 301111 also has them. I've never seen another car with them. Definitely done at the factory...

John,
That's good cuz I was getting ready to fire up the die grinder.
Can you post pics so we can compare location, etc?
I've seen them in 911s but not 912s ... or, maybe I just didn't notice them in the 912s.
I figured luggage hooks, too, Frank.

Frank, when you get a chance would you post some pictures? I'll check 302580 the next time I open the trunk.

Sorry for the poor pics. The problem is with the I, not the iPhone.
Amazing: Still learning lots of new things every day. I have NEVER seen these before.
Frank,
Mine look the same. They have carpet on them at this point, I'll try to get some shots.

John,
Interested to know how the carpet fits around them as well.
Thanks.
I've seen then in a few early cars 301000 and under, or much earlier. There are two at the shock towers and two at the back of the front nose. I think it might have been some experimental hooks for luggage straps, that is my theory...
'65 912 does not have such things.
